VP Membership Report


As a member, the Reliability Society has much to offer. If not already a member, second half 2012 memberships are available for half the annual rate. If you are a member of another IEEE Society, you can stay involved in their focus area, but also join the Reliability Society for specific but broad reliability focus and establishing broad Reliability Engineering contacts.


The Reliability Society has the management, resources, and administrative and technical structures to develop and provide technical information through our publications, training, committees, chapters and conferences for our members and the overall Reliability Engineering and Specialty Engineering communities. The Reliability Society is broad, covering all levels of product reliability, trustworthiness and all the aspects which enhance reliability performance.


As a member of the Reliability Society, in addition to this quarterly newsletter you will receive:

    Reliability Society hosts a variety of Reliability-related conferences, symposia and workshops, including our premier conferences:.


        - Annual International Reliability Physics Symposium (IRPS),

        - Annual Reliability and Maintainability Symposium (RAMS), and

        - Annual International Conference on Prognostics and Health Management (PHM).


    This year we are initiating new annual conferences:


        - Software Security and Reliability (SERE) on June 20-22 (http://paris.utdallas.edu/sere12/),

        - Hackademic on June 29 — July 1 (http://hackademic.info/), and

        - Reliability Science for Advanced Materials and Devices (RSAMD) on September 10-11 (http://www.csmspace.com/events/rsamd/).


    We currently have 25 active chapters in North America, Europe and Asia. We have recently formed new chapters in Vancouver, British Columbia, and in Croatia, and activity is underway to form a chapter in China.


    Volunteers drawn from our membership enable the professional activities of our Society. Consider the advantages you gain in your profession, by providing your vision of the future while networking with other professionals in the field. In addition to encouraging your participation in Reliability related Technical Committees, Chapter activities and in Reliability-sponsored conferences, we encourage you to let us know what you need to stay abreast of changes in your field.
