Hackers Attacked The Times

For the last four months, the computer systems of New York Times has been breached by a group of hackers, according to the investigation done by computer security experts at Mandiant. Digital evidence gathered suggested that these hackers, called "A.P.T. Number 12" inside Mandiant, made the attack in response to the online publication of a story about the billion-dollar fortune earned by the relatives of China's prime minister through business dealings. The movements of "A.P.T. Number 12" inside the system showed that they are specifically after the information related to this story. The Times had blocked the compromised computers, changed the password of all employees and strengthened the system security. These precautions seem to work so far, but the hackers are anticipated to come back again.
