Professor Steven Li (a member of the RS Administrative Committee and faculty of Western New England University, USA) visited the Dallas Chapter on November 18 and gave a lecture on Reliability Engineering and Management in New Product Development. The focus is on major reliability methods and implementation activities when developing modern complex engineering systems, which are usually comprised of mechanical, electrical, and software and control functionalities. Design for reliability tools such as reliability allocation, system functional and boundary diagrams, event sequence diagrams, and reliability growth modeling, planning, and prediction were also discussed. Reliability data analysis, especially under the Weibull model was introduced through numerical examples. More details can be found at the website of the Advanced Research Center for Software Testing and Quality Assurance under the Section of “News and Events”.
