Reliability Society Outreach in Wuhan, China
The Reliability Society technically sponsored DCIT 2015 – The Second International Symposium on Dependable Computing and Internet of Things, which was held on November 16th and 17th in Wuhan, China. The conference was a great success with more than 150 attendees from academia, industry and national research laboratories. Dr. Jeff Voas (past president of the society and former director of IEEE Division VI) and Professor Eric Wong (Vice President for Publication) were the keynote speakers at the conference. The following pictures were taken during the opening session at DCIT 2015.
Dr. Voas and Professor Wong also hosted a round-table discussion with RS members to discuss the establishment of a chapter in Wuhan.
On November 17, Dr. Voas and Professor Wong visited the State Key Laboratory of Software Engineering at Wuhan University. They both gave presentations about their ongoing research and encouraged faculty members and students to join the to-be-established RS Wuhan Chapter.
The Reliability Society wants to give special thanks to Professor Shengwu Xiong (Dean of School of Computer Science and Technology at Wuhan University of Technology), Professor Jianwen Xiang (Wuhan University of Technology), Professor Baowen Xu (Director, State Key Laboratory of Software Engineering, Wuhan University), and Professor Xiaoyuan Xie (Wuhan University) for their support and hospitality. |
