President's Message

Dear Valued Members of the IEEE Reliability Society,

As we approach the end of this dynamic year, it's a moment to contemplate the remarkable progress our society has achieved in advancing the field of reliability engineering.

Over the past six months, we've witnessed the incredible potential of collaboration and innovation as we navigate an ever-evolving technological landscape. In my role as President, I take immense pride in the multitude of initiatives undertaken by our society. Under the leadership of our VP Membership Professor Janet Lin, our membership has significantly grown this year, especially for student members in IEEE Region 10. After two successful PHM conferences, one held in Montreal, Canada in June, and the other held in Hangzhou, China in October, our society will continue to support these two conferences in 2024. Our VP of Publications Professor Phil Laplante is spearheading the new Reliability Magazine and we are also thrilled to announce that our eagerly awaited Reliability Magazine is well on its way to a launch in early 2024. In addition, we are also working on a new PHM-related publication. Furthermore, we are actively engaged in promoting Women in Reliability Engineering (WIRE) through collaborative efforts with the IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) programs.

As we look ahead, the remainder of the year is filled with exciting opportunities for us to bolster our society's influence. I encourage each member to actively participate in knowledge exchange, share their expertise, and inspire others to join us in shaping the future of reliability engineering.

Your unwavering support and dedication are deeply appreciated. Thank you for being an essential part of this thriving community.

With warm regards,

Z. Steven Li, PhD
President of IEEE Reliability Society 2023
