In Memory of Dick Kowalski

With the passing of Richard A. “Dick” Kowalski, the Reliability Society has lost an icon. He was a gentleman and a “gentle man” in every sense, with a wonderful sense of humor. Dick was the voice of reliability for the ARINC Corporation for nearly 35 years. He served as an RS officer 21 times, starting in 1985 as VP Pubs. He was also VP Tech Ops, and Treasurer an astonishing 17 times between 1990 and 2010.

Those of us that were fortunate enough to know Dick delighted in his broad Boston accent and his wonderful sense of humor. As treasurer (a position he clearly loved) he kept us out of trouble financially. Dick was a proud alum of the oldest school in America, the Boston Latin School. He felt very strongly that BLS was the most important influence on him during his formative years.

Dick passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones.
